The 112 Suomi mobile app relays an emergency caller’s exact location to the Emergency Response Centre automatically and makes it quicker for help to reach them. The app was launched in June 2015, and it hit the one-million downloads mark in just under two years.
On 27 April 2017, Digia Plc signed an agreement with Omni Partners Oy’s owners by which Digia Plc will acquire the entire share capital of Omni Partners Oy and, at the same time, Omni Partners’ wholly owned subsidiary Nord Software Oy Ltd. The Security Committee granted the 2016 Timanttiteko (Diamond Act) award to the 112 Suomi application, developed by the Emergency Response Centre Administration and Digia Plc. The award ceremony took place at the Erve Forum of critical communications for security professionals, organised by the State Security Networks Group on 16 March 2017.
