Finnish Defence Forces and Digia have signed a partnership agreement
The Finnish Defence Forces Logistics Command and IT services company Digia Finland Oy have signed a partnership agreement on life-cycle services for systems. The partnership agreement will involve the development and strengthening of long-term cooperation between the Defence Forces and Digia. The agreement will remain valid until further notice.
The partnership agreement covers maintenance services for the command systems of the Defence Forces and their training and data security systems, including encryption solutions and services.
Joint activities between the two parties have characterised their partnership since 2003. Long-term cooperation has enabled the supplier to develop strong technological expertise, which can ensure domestic security of supply of systems that are critical to the Defence Forces, even during crises.
The agreement now signed will clarify the roles of both parties and enable close cooperation on the maintenance and development of existing systems. It involves a framework agreement, which describes practices that are already well-established, and confirms that the business relationship is a partnership in accordance with the defence administration’s partnership strategy.
The estimated impact on employment is 5-6 man-years. Based on the agreement, the estimated amount of purchases made by The Finnish Defence Forces Logistics Command yearly is 800 000 – 1 000 000 million euros.
