“It’s hard to imagine our company without the ERP”
Haloila Oy is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of wrapping machines for pallet loads. Haloila’s production facilities are located in Masku, Finland and Kardzhali, Bulgaria. Haloila was established over forty years ago, and has manufactured more than 5,000 Octopus wrapping machines in that time. Machines have been delivered to almost a hundred countries. Haloila is a member of the international Signode Industrial Group, which is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of industrial packaging products.
Cooperation with Digia began in 2006, when Haloila was looking for a new provider for a Microsoft Dynamics NAV system. Digia updated Haloila’s ERP to the latest version at the end of 2014.
Haloila Oy’s Assistant General Manager Markku Ylinen listed the three most important features of the NAV ERP:
1. New version introduced
We deployed the previous version of NAV in 2006, so it was definitely time for an update. Significant developments have been made to the NAV system in recent years. The update has brought us new interfaces to a variety of software, which also allows for future developments. We’ve managed to get certain features, such as e-invoicing, e-commerce and purchasing invoices, to work better with the ERP. In the future, it will be time to look at remote logins via, for example, tablets.
2. An important part of our business
I don’t believe that we would be able to function without our ERP any more. It has everything: information about the machines we manufacture, inventories, accounting, and administration. It’s hard to imagine the days before the ERP. Other companies in the Group have also shown interest in the NAV system that we’re using. NAV is a suitably sized solution for us, although we can also use it to handle Group reporting.
3. Used in all of our operations
We use the ERP in all of our operations. NAV has proven to be highly adaptable to our business. It’s used in administration, production, maintenance, sales and warehousing. Office personnel use the system daily, and our maintenance personnel all across Europe also use it to log maintenance data.
