ERP supports global growth

Globally growing Ojala Group decided to modernize its ERP system so that it would better suit for the changing business needs. Digia Enterprise solution helped Ojala Group to streamline its production and gain higher efficiency in capacity allocation.

Ojala Group is a fast growing, global industry contract manufacturer. Its customers include several major global machine and equipment producers. Products manufactured to meet constantly changing customer needs, with short supply times and in the face of fierce competition, are typical of Ojala Group’s operating environment. The company’s production units are located in Finland, Central Europe and Asia.

More efficient production management

Ojala Group decided to modernize its years-old offer calculation process, its difficult-to-maintain self-made tools and old ERP system. Under the new model, all of these functions must be developed holistically based on business needs. They must also work in an integrated manner in a company-wide ERP system.

After a successful project phase, the Digia Enterprise ERP system was deployed in Finland and Europe in the first half of 2011. The goal for Ojala Group is to seek further development and profitable business growth. The chosen ERP system had to be perfectly suited to an extremely challenging offer calculation process and fast, high-volume production.

Digia’s flexibility, strong expertise, the system’s capabilities and Ojala Group’s strong commitment and competencies helped to achieve these goals.

Ojala Group’s production is organized into independently operating cells. The new system enables more-precise management of these cells. In addition, over-load and under-load situations can be prevented more effectively. This will improve production, with fuller use being made of production capacity.

Once the new system is deployed, the sales organization will be able to handle more offers.

Offers are priced based on specifications of goods to be manufactured, final data on closely corresponding goods and profit margin simulation. Using the created guidance models, the system allows account to be taken of all cost components associated with the item. This minimizes the risk of human error.
