"We have been reporting on our sustainability work to EcoVadis since 2014, and our development has been long-term and consistent. We reached the silver level in 2021, and now we won gold – this is significant," delights Anne Puntari, Digia's Head of Sustainability.
EcoVadis is one of the world's leading sustainability assessment systems, with more than 100,000 companies from around the globe reporting to it annually.
The system encompasses a broad range of industries and serves as a standard benchmark for comparing sustainability measures between customers and partners.
The EcoVadis evaluation is based on international standards, and numerous organizations use its results in their procurement decisions. Many of Digia's customers also use EcoVadis in their supplier assessments.
"EcoVadis not only evaluates the company's performance and documentation but also highlights potential areas for improvement. We use these findings annually to develop our corporate responsibility and always focus on the improvements that are most important to us," says Puntari.
EcoVadis assesses sustainability in four areas: the environment, labour and human rights, ethics and responsible procurement. Digia improved its results in each of these.
"It shows our comprehensive commitment and systematic development work," says Puntari.
Examples of systematic corporate responsibility development and commitment include:
"Sustainability is a key part of our strategy, and our work continues, but now on an even stronger foundation. As we become more international, we want to ensure that all new units are also included in our common operating models and processes. We will have plenty of work to do in the future as well," Puntari assures.
