On 30 July 2020, Digia Finland Oy and Vakka-Suomen Puhelin Oy signed an agreement to sell Digia’s Rauma's local support business to Vakka-Suomen Puhelin Oy. The local support business has provided server management and local support services to local customers in Rauma.
The transfer of business came into force on 1 August 2020 and, as a result, four of Digia’s employees will transfer to Vakka-Suomen Puhelin as old employees. The transfer of business has no impact on the other activities of Digia's Rauma office.
"The local support business focused on Rauma has been small and separate from our core business at Digia. From our point of view, Vakka-Suomen Puhelin is better placed to develop such a business regionally," comments Jaarno Ropponen, Director, Project Portfolio, Digia.
"We employ almost 40 IT experts in Pori, Rauma, Turku and Uusikaupunki. We want to grow into a major IT operator in Western Finland and provide companies with comprehensive IT services with local strength. We are a customer-oriented service company and locality is an important value for both us and our long-term customers. The acquisition will strengthen our regional position and support our growth strategy," says Business Director Julle Rintala from Vakka-Suomen Puhelin.
The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.
