On 16 December 2021, DigiFinland Oy and Digia signed an agreement under which Digia will provide DigiFinland with a development team to develop and maintain integrations. The team will operate under DigiFinland’s guidance. The agreement is fixed term until the end of 2022 and includes two optional terms (1+1). The projected value of the agreement over three years is approximately EUR 5.7 million.
DigiFinland’s role is to promote digital development in the social, health and rescue services sectors and the interoperability of public administration ICT. The integration platform will facilitate the interface traffic required by DigiFinland’s services. These services include the Omaolo system, Electronic Archiving Project, Electronic Family Centre Project, Suuntima system and General Medical Helpline 116117.
“One prerequisite for updating and digitalising our operations is that we need to be able to share and utilise data that has been saved in one place. Integrations and interfaces are used to allow data to travel within and between organisations. DigiFinland’s multisectoral role and operating environment have created an increased need to expand, manage and maintain technical integration solutions. The company’s upcoming integration development is based on a service package built around the integration platform, and the goal is to offer integration services to wellbeing services counties from 2023, in addition to DigiFinland’s own services,” explains Jenny Vuollet, Director at DigiFinland.
“Digia is the leading integration provider in Finland, and we are a trusted long-term partner to many of our customers. We are excited about working with DigiFinland and about the opportunity to use our integration expertise to help ensure the reliability of important services produced for people in Finland,” comments Janne Tuominen, Senior Vice President, Managed Digital Core at Digia.
