Biggest IT recruitment of the year: Digia hires 75 professionals immediately

Written by Digia | 12/9/24 8:30 AM

"Growth cannot be achieved without top professionals who work uncompromisingly to build our customers' digital journey. In recent years, we have steadily increased our number of employees, but the recent growth in demand and business enables and, on the other hand, requires bigger leaps to expand our team," says Pia Huhdanmäki, Digia's Senior Vice President, Human Resources.

Digia currently employs slightly over 1500 people. The figure makes it one of Finland's largest IT companies and employers. The new recruitment package is an additional investment in Digia's already substantial annual recruitment.

"Building sustainable growth continues, and we warmly welcome new experts to join us," Huhdanmäki says.

Looking for experienced professionals and budding talents

Digia aims to recruit 50 experienced professionals with special knowledge of the banking and insurance sectors. There is also a need for experts in the retail and telecommunications sectors. However, industry expertise is not a threshold issue.

"The most essential thing is motivation and the desire to help the customer. We hope to gather a group of 50 people, where the skills and experience of different people complement each other – the goal is a combination of versatile technical expertise, suitable industry expertise, and an iron attitude," says Kari Pirttikangas, who coordinates the recruitment project.

We are looking for full-stack developers, CRM and data experts, testing specialists, and many other roles. All job descriptions can be found here.

At the same time, there is an application process for Digia's Career Compass program, which is intended for young people who have recently graduated or are about to graduate or for those changing careers. There is a wide range of tasks available in Digia's different business areas, including application development, integrations, data analytics, and ERP systems.

Recruitment is ongoing, and the goal is to recruit new experts as soon as possible in the first half of 2025.

Significant IT actions and new technologies – everyone at Digia is a Senior Trainee

How does Digia intend to succeed in attracting dozens of new professionals to its ranks?

With opportunities to influence and do something new, Kari Pirttikangas sums up.

Digia's customer companies are Finland's largest operators in various fields, and their customers include millions of Finns. In other words, you get to do work that affects the everyday life of practically every Finn.

"In addition, I would like to point out that many new things are done in these projects with modern technologies; for example, artificial intelligence is very strongly involved," he says.

Digia's everyday life is strongly guided by the cultural principles of learning, sharing, courage, and professional pride. Every Digia employee is a Senior Trainee – which means that everyone always has something to learn but also something to share with others.

"No matter how experienced you are, you always want to learn and do new things. Now you have the opportunity to come to a professional and at the same time relaxed house, where at its best you can see the good sides of a big and small house: hard expertise, opportunities to do new things and an excellent team that doesn't lack everyday humour,"  Pirttikangas sums up.
