DigiNyt, a new programme produced in collaboration with Tivi, Kauppalehti and Digia, promises common-sense conversation about digitalisation
The new programme explains digital subjects in clear and concrete terms and gives companies’ decision-makers practical digitalisation tips.
Available on Tivi and Kauppalehti’s websites, DigiNyt premieres on 25 January, with new episodes every two weeks until early May. New episodes become available every second Tuesday.
Over the course of this spring’s eight episodes, the studio will host a total of 16 guests who will tackle questions like: How can Finnish companies utilise platform economy practices? What are the first or most important steps for digital projects? What does corporate responsibility mean in the everyday operations of IT companies? What does a digitally-wise smart small to medium-sized company look like?
The programme is produced and written by Alma Talent’s Technology and ICT Media Editorial Team. Digia is involved in planning the subjects of the episodes, and some episodes will feature Digia experts as guests. The series will be hosted by Alma Talent’s Technology and ICT Publications Editor in Chief Harri Junttila and startup entrepreneur and freelance reporter Heidi Kähkönen.
“There’s a lot of talk about digital subjects out there. Unfortunately, lots of it is also loose and self-important. We hear a lot about a digital leap despite the fact that making that leap is impossible. Instead of a digital leap, what we’re actually talking about is strategic thinking based on continuous investment. Previously, we used to think that making an investment required three years of booming business and a stable view of the future. That’s simply not achievable anymore. Still, if you want to make it, you need to invest. DigiNyt offers concrete tools and encourages companies to make the digital transition,” Harri Junttila explains.
It is also clear to us at Digia that there is demand for common-sense digital conversation.
“When we talk to our customers, something we hear again and again is that, amidst the ever-changing litany of hype words and the constantly evolving trends, the decision-makers of companies and public sector organisations are often more concerned with the basics: what should we digitalise, how to do that smartly, where to start and how to build our ICT architecture far into the future,” explains Anne Puntari, Head of Marketing and Communications, Digia.
“Technology moves fast, and keeping up can be an almost impossible task. I would even say that professionals in the ICT sector have a responsibility to act as interpreters for their customers. At Digia, we want to help our customers navigate the complicated world of technology and make even the most complex subjects understandable. The experts on the programme will be shining a light on trending terms and going over the things that are still far in the future or nothing but hype, as well as the trends and developments that are actually worth taking on board right now,” Puntari says.
