Scalable ERP helps in everyday life and enables growth
The company's need was clear: an ERP system that has reached the end of its life cycle must be replaced, while a solid foundation for future integrations must be created. The usability of ERP should also be improved.
"Our old ERP system only supported one type of machine design at a time. However, when we have several different products and configurations, the problem arises from how to model them in the system so that in all different situations, the structures can be brought into production mode at the right time. In addition, we needed to anticipate new and changed items coming through the change process, which should be made known to the procurement well in advance. This was one major limitation of our old system", Silvonen says.
"The new system allows us to use the same name in several different structures, which enables us to significantly change and fine-tune our operations and processes. Examples include assembly phases and configuring subassemblies to be performed in several different locations, with the system controlling material flows between locations", Silvonen continues.
