Servica chooses Digia as its financial ERP partner

Servica Ltd., an in-house company owned by wellbeing services counties, municipalities and joint municipal authorities, has put the financial ERP system out to tender. The chosen partner was software and service company Digia Plc, one of Finland's leading Microsoft Dynamics 365 suppliers.

"The project aims to provide Servica with a modern and reliable financial system, which will enable increasing the degree of automation in the economy and capable knowledge-based management solutions. Utilizing digitalization as part of improving competitiveness is one of the goals of Servica's strategy, and implementing the Microsoft Dynamics 365 platform strongly supports this," says Jussi Keinänen, Project Manager and Business Controller at Servica Ltd.

Servica provides its owners, cities, municipalities, wellbeing services counties, and joint municipal authorities with catering, cleaning, equipment maintenance, facility management and logistics services. The company is an affiliate of its owners, with approximately 1800 employees. Its revenue in 2023 was EUR 150 million.

"The renewal project is based on Servica's strong system architecture. The company has a clear will to develop ERP and financial management as a whole, and the renewal project and the selected Microsoft Dynamics 365 platform enable the harmonisation of core functions and processes and the streamlining of operations significantly," says Digia’s Vice President, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Unified Operations Solutions, Jarkko Savolainen.

The new system will cover all Servica's financial control processes, such as accounting, accounts receivable, fixed assets, project tracking, and travel and expense invoices. The reform project has started with an analysis phase. Implementations and testing will be carried out during autumn 2024. The aim is to already have the new system in use at the turn of the year.

A comprehensive technology platform enables knowledge-based management and service development

With the winning tender, Digia and Servica will continue to cooperate. Digia has been cooperating with Servica for a couple of years in customer relationship management and fieldwork solutions. Several Microsoft Dynamics 365 technologies and tools, such as Dynamics 365 Sales, Dynamics 365 Customer Service, Dynamics 365 Field Service, and Power Platform, have been utilised in the implementations. Previous cooperation and Digia's comprehensive Microsoft Dynamics 365 expertise also create a strong foundation for implementing the renewal project.

"Renewing financial ERP and taking core processes to a common platform enables Servica not only cost-efficiency but also better knowledge-based management. This, in turn, enables better development of operations and services. Microsoft's technology ecosystem also provides Servica with extensive and constantly developing artificial intelligence capabilities. For example, Microsoft has just released new Copilot AI applications for Dynamics 365 Finance," Savolainen says.

"Implementing the Microsoft Dynamics 365 financial ERP system is a natural path towards a modern overall solution. In cooperation with Digia, we have found the right components for Servica's needs, which will also enable further system development in the future," Keinänen says.
