Traficom has approved both Digia Linja solutions on the list of safety-critical products

Digia's software-based information exchange gateway product, Digia Linja Light IEG, has been approved for safety-critical products in the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency Traficom NCSA function. The Digia Linja solution in the product family has already received approval similar to the TL II (secret) security classification level.

The compliance statement now received covers the exchange of information between TL III (confidential) and TL IV (restricted) data networks.

"The security of data transfer is emphasised in the changing security environment. Traficom's statement on compliance indicates our ability to provide our customers with a scalable and secure gateway solution for all security classes," says Aki Martti, Product Manager of the Digia Linja information exchange gateway solution.

Traficom's product assessment shows that the Digia Linja Light IEG protects information confidentiality and integrity from unauthorised disclosure and alteration as required by security class III (confidential). Supported use cases include transferring information from a lower security class to a higher security class, from a higher security class to a lower security class and exchanging information between networks with the same security class in a situation where the networks have different data owners.

"Digia Linja Light IEG is a solution for exchanging information between security environments that do not require a physical data diode device. The solution is well-suited for information exchange between authorities' security-classified environments, information exchange between OT and IT networks, and the protection of data communications of critical infrastructure," Martti adds.
