Impressive online services designed around user-friendliness
We will help you stand out online. In order for you to make the most of online services, they need to be tailored to the customers and their needs. The system should also be built so that you can track consumer behaviour and modify the service accordingly. The service must be usable and function properly at least on mobile and laptop – and why not also on an information display or the wall of an elevator. Our award-winning online services have made everyday life easier for millions of people.
What makes up a modern online service?
At its simplest, an online service is a site that you use to communicate about your services to those interested in them. Communication can be made possible by a content management system that allows you to create and format your own messages without a technical partner. If you sell services and products online to a significant extent, you will also require a webstore.
Now your online service is already more comprehensive, as you need back-end systems that are discreetly integrated in the background to create a seamless user experience. Digia also has extensive expertise in, for example, analytics, integration and high-security solutions, so we are able to meet your organisation’s needs in a scalable manner.
Before we let the technology people choose the modern implementation tools, let’s start our shared journey in service design by figuring out who we are creating the service for and why. We look into what processes and other forces will have an impact on our project – without forgetting people.
Transport services in one app
In a couple of years, the HSL mobile app has established itself as one of Finland’s most popular applications. Digia has been involved in developing the app since autumn 2017 and is currently responsible for the app’s development and maintenance as HSL’s partner.
The HSL app was originally developed in a multivendor environment in line with the principles of agile development. However, HSL wanted to accelerate the development cycle, and it sought to do so by centralising the technical development responsibility with a single partner – Digia.
How we implement online services
1. Starting with a business objective
Regardless of size, your online services must have a clear business role and objectives. Knowing the operating environment and the market provides your project and online service with a strong basis for success.
We also work under the surface, and Digia’s cloud experts help you create an operating environment for the system, no matter which cloud you choose.
2. Focus on the user
Your business objectives can only be achieved if users adopt the service. This requires understanding your customers and their behaviour. Digia’s customer-oriented design enables us to together find the answers to questions such as: who is the app for and why is it valuable to them? The use of the system must also be monitored and the service optimised going forward, so that we can serve the user in the best way possible.
3. From planning to reality
Following user-oriented design, we implement the system itself. The choice of technologies and tools will only be made after we have an understanding of your operating environment.
4. Peace of mind regarding maintenance
The service lifecycle does not end with the closing meeting of the implementation project. The world changes one step at a time, with some surprise always around the corner.
Digia’s maintenance services give you peace of mind, whether there is an unexpected disruption in the service or a small update to the back-end for future security. We will monitor the service on your behalf.
