New business took off quickly with the Digia Logistics SaaS solution

Jylhä Logistics selected the Digia Logistics SaaS solution as it expanded its operations into warehouse management services. The solution matched the needs of the new business unit perfectly and was deployed rapidly.

Kuljetus ja muutto O. Jylhä Oy (Jylhä Logistics) is a family-owned logistics company established in 1961 and operating internationally. Its core expertise includes transport between Europe and Finland, domestic transport services, relocation services, as well as art and high-value goods logistics and event logistics. The company is the market leader in temperature‑controlled transport in Finland.

Throughout its history, Jylhä Logistics has continuously developed its operations with a bold mindset. In 2025, the company’s leadership decided to expand into warehouse management services. The new business grew quickly, and Jylhä Logistics needed an operational system to support it – fast.

Digia logistics was the natural choice

The Digia Logistics system is used to manage all operations of the new unit. It covers warehouse management, customs clearance, and invoicing – and through integrations, data flows smoothly into the company’s accounting system and customer systems.

According to Key account manager Tea Varuskivi, who is responsible for the new business unit, the decisive factor was the system’s ability to enable a fast deployment. Comparisons with other systems showed that Digia’s solution was also more advanced in functionality, with customs‑related features standing out clearly.

“Digia Logistics was familiar to me from a previous job, so I knew it would support this type of business extremely well. And when Digia was able to promise a fast implementation, the choice was easy,” Varuskivi says.

A tight schedule required strong project management

The launch of the new business unit had a non‑negotiable deadline. That’s why IT manager Mika Pilke was pleased to see how firmly the Digia team led the project.

“Project management was excellent. The project manager monitored the schedule closely and reacted quickly by arranging additional meetings whenever something wasn’t progressing fast enough.”

When the new business launched at the start of July 2025, everything was ready. The transition from the previous service provider went seamlessly.

“The go‑live was almost perfect. We were able to start operations exactly on schedule and exactly as planned and promised. A big thank‑you goes to the Digia team,” Varuskivi says.

Efficient import customs processing is a business‑critical capability

Storing goods arriving from outside the EU is a significant part of the new business. This requires special permits and seamless connections to the Finnish Customs systems. To obtain the permits, the company must also pass a system test scheduled and defined by Customs.

In Digia’s system, customs functions are tightly integrated with warehouse management. As a result, a large share of the information required for customs declarations is populated automatically, reducing duplicate data entry.

“We knew that the customs functionalities in Digia’s solution were very strong and user‑friendly, making the declaration process smooth. Digia’s team also has in‑depth knowledge of the Customs requirements and code sets. That’s why the testing went through without any issues,” Pilke explains.

A well‑executed project creates a strong foundation for future development

Both Varuskivi and Pilke praise Digia for the effective delivery of a solution that supports the new business exceptionally well. Collaboration was smooth and solution‑driven from the start. Digia’s project team kept everything firmly on track, and any technical challenges during and after the deployment were solved quickly.

“It was clear that the people on the other side knew the system inside out and understood this business – including the Customs code sets,” Pilke says.

“Digia Logistics is provided to us as a SaaS solution, so our collaboration will continue. And as the number of customers grows or regulation changes, we know we can always rely on Digia’s expertise,” Varuskivi concludes.
