Digia Plc’s Managed Solutions business unit’s change negotiations were completed on May 30, 2025. The outcome of the negotiations was communicated to the personnel today. As a result of the negotiations, Digia will reduce 36 employees in various expert roles. The personnel reductions will generate estimated annual savings of 2.4 million euros for the company.
The change negotiations began on May 5, 2025, and concerned Digia's Managed Solutions business unit, which is one of four business units within Digia. Approximately 600 employees were within the scope of the negotiations. The negotiations were based on the reorganization of operations, and financial and production-related reasons. The estimated reduction need was at most 45 employees. The negotiations concluded on May 30, when employee and employer representatives jointly determined that the matters subject to negotiations had been addressed. The negotiation period was thus shortened by approximately two weeks from the original schedule.
As a result of the negotiations, Digia will reduce a total of 36 employees in various expert roles across its Finnish locations. During the negotiations, several other changes were also decided upon, including matters related to subcontracting, which partially helped limit the number of layoffs. Digia offers laid-off employees transition security to facilitate re-employment.
"The Managed Solutions business unit has a strong and diverse offering and customer base. However, profitable growth requires continuous renewal and timely adaptation to customer expectations. Change negotiations are always regrettable from a human perspective, but sometimes necessary. The measures now implemented and the renewal of operations create better prerequisites for us to meet customer expectations and build sustainable profitable growth and successful business," says Janne Tuominen, the SVP of Digia's Managed Solutions business unit.
"Changes affecting personnel are always emotionally challenging, but sometimes necessary for business continuity. The change negotiations proceeded in a constructive spirit with an atmosphere of open dialogue. I want to thank the personnel and employee representatives for their professional approach and flexibility during the process. As a company, we continue developing Digia as a pioneer in intelligent business, combining the potential of people and artificial intelligence," states Digia's CEO Timo Levoranta.
